I am very excited to start out 23 things class. My husband is a computer programmer and I want to show him that I can be just as technological in my career as he is in his. In this era, we have to find new ways to teach children. Using only books and paper does not work anymore when they use the Internet, video games, and television at home to keep their attention
Welcome to the 23 Things course! I'm pleased to have you on board! You've hit a great point that we DO have to find new ways of teaching our students. They've not only grown up in a very different environment from how we did, but they approach learning differently as well. Beginning with a perspective such as that when approaching a class like this is a great beginning. I hope you'll find some great tools to support your teaching!
ReplyDeleteMrs. McK, you are so right to say that we have to find new ways to teach. Honestly, these days using technology is the only way to get their attention. Well...unless you want to drape yourself in Christmas lights and plug your self in.
ReplyDeleteI wish we could go back to the days where only books and paper were used to teach! Even though I grew up with computers, I am not all that savy with them. That is one reason why I chose to take this class. I am sure that you will show your husband just how good at computers you really are!
